There are 5 attitudes that people should adopt to failure/ rejection:
1. “I never see failure as failure but only as a learning experience” – - When Edison created the lightbulb he had over 1000 written experiments previously with no result! When he was asked by his peers how he felt about failing 1000 times before he succeeded; he said “I did not fail 1000 times, I only learned 1000 ways it didn’t work!”
2. “I never see failure as failure but only as the negative feedback that I need to change course in my direction” – think of a torpedo with a sonar, it gets feedback every time it goes off course, readjusts direction and keeps moving! To hit its target it has to do this, it is not built to give up and go home the first time it hears that it is not doing the right thing!
3. I never see failure as failure but only as the opportunity to develop my sense of humour – some failure turns into funny stories down the lines, the key is to laugh sooner at the right situation!
4. I never see failure as failure but only as the opportunity to practice my techniques and perfect my performance
5. I am not judged by the number of times I fail but by the number of times I Succeed, and the number of times I succeed is in direct proportion to the number of times I can fail and keep trying!
